Antique American STANLEY 71 Router Plane
An early American STANLEY 71 router plane.
Believed to be a type 5, circa 1896 - 1901.
'No 71 STANLEY PATENTED MARCH 4.84' is cast into the into the base.
The type 5 was the first to include the throat closing/depth stop attachment, this one has the 'S' casting mark on the attachment and the foot.
Comes with the correct early style 1/2 inch cutter.
Good maple handles/knobs.
Previous owner's stamps 'H.J.CRAGG'.
Some surface scratches to the sole.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
