'A.B.S.D.' refers to the Army Blood Supply Depot, best described as 'the centre of Britain’s efforts to supply blood to casualties that had been wounded in action across the globe in the Second World War. Donated blood was processed, stored and quickly dispatched to where it was needed.'
This tin retains most of its original finish and has various small knocks and scratches.
Some letters have also been lightly scratched on the surface and lid indicating that it has been used for storage for 'Stair eyes and ends' at some time.
