Early American STANLEY No.50 Combination Plane *SOLD*
A tidy early American STANLEY No.50 combination plane.
This example is circa 1915 - 1936 and comes with its full set of 15 cutters in their original wooden box - 7 plough in sizes 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 5/8 and 7/8 inch, 7 beading in sizes 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2 inch plus 1 tonguing.
Unlike the later combination planes, the early cutters do not have the depth adjusting grooves on their backs.
STANLEY added the cutter depth lever and 1/8 & 3/16" plough cutters in 1936.
Complete with all parts including the often missing shaving deflector, depth & beading stops and spur.
The depth stop is marked with the STANLEY Sweetheart trade mark.
Retains much of its original nickel plating.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
A nice example.
