Early American STANLEY No.6 Fore Plane - Type 8 *SOLD*
A tidy early American STANLEY No.6 fore plane, believed to be a type 8 circa 1899 - 1902.
Marked 'No.6' at the toe.
Single patent date on the lateral lever 'PAT. 7.24.88'.
No frog adjuster.
'B' casting marks in the rear handle raised mount and on the frog and Y lever. Also marked '0' in the rear handle mount.
Fitted with a 23/8 inch STANLEY Sweetheart blade iron.
Excellent rosewood handles.
Solid brass handle nuts.
This plane appears to have been, very well, 'restored' by a previous owner at some time in its history.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
1711/16 inches overall length.
