A nice example of a BURSTON patent adjustable wrench.

Marked 'BURSTON' on one side and 'BRITISH PATENT 384468 26-1-32' on the other.

The patent was applied for on 26th January 1932 and granted on 8th December of the same year.

The lower jaw is spring loaded allowing quick adjustment by the snail cam adjuster.

Very faint previous owner's marks 'CH' and 'H HOWE'.

All parts move freely.

The jaw size adjusts from a little under 1/2 inch to a maximum of 11/8 inches.

 81/8 inches overall length.
