RECORD 044 Plough Plane - Early Model *SOLD*
An early, tidy and complete, example of the RECORD 044 plough plane.
Marked 'REGD.DESIGN No811133' on the left side of the skate dating this plane to between 1936 and 1951.
Full set of eight cutters (1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2 and 9/16 inch), depth stop, long and short fence arms, fence and cutter clamping screw.
All the cutters are marked either 'RECORD MADE IN ENGLAND TUNGSTEN STEEL' or 'RECORD' on the front apart from the 7/16 cutter which is marked on the back. If you look very closely at this cutter it is possible to see a very faint RECORD mark on the front, presumably mis-struck hence the clear mark on the back.
Marked 'RECORD 044' on the right side of the main body.
Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.
Some patchy plating loss on the long fence arms.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
