A very good and little used wooden compass plane by GRIFFITHS of Norwich.

This is a 'best quality' compass plane with the brass thumb screw depth stop.

Marked 'GRIFFITHS NORWICH' on the toe.

Fitted with a near full length WARD & PAYNE 2 inch blade iron and matching cap iron.

The blade, depth stop, wedge and inside of the plane body are all marked '4' or '1111' indicating that all parts are original.

A few minor surface dents and scratches.

Previous owner's mark 'N.TOKELOVE' on the heel.

7⁵/₈ inches overall length.

A fine example.
