An uncommon beechwood compass plane by WATSON of Leeds, circa 1820 - 1851
Embossed mark 'WATSON'S LEEDS' on the toe.
Fitted with a 13/4 inch Robert SORBY blade iron with matching cap iron, some pitting.
Previous owner's stamps 'J.LORD', 'F.LORD' and 'S.BROADLEY'.
Four old, treated and wax filled, worm exit holes to the wedge.
73/16 inches overall length.
