A scarce and very good beechwood mitre or shooting plane.

Marked 'J.BAXTER WADSLEY BRIDGE' on the toe, Wadsley Bridge is a suburb of Sheffield.

Typically used with a shooting board for trimming mitres on mouldings, picture frames etc..

Fitted with a single 21/2 inch skewed blade iron by Thomas TURNER.

This plane has a tight mouth and shows little sign of use.

31/4 inches wide, 147/8 inches overall length.
