An American STANLEY No.4 1/2 smoothing plane.

Believed to be a type 13, circa 1925 - 1928.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

Fitted with a flat top 2³/₈ inch STANLEY blade iron with the Sweetheart trade mark.  Matching cap iron, ¹¹/₁₆ inch remains below the slot.

There is a small square mark to the back of the blade, please see close-up image.

Marked 'US PAT APR-19-10' to the bed behind the frog.

Retains the majority of its original black finish throughout.

Very good rosewood handles, STANLEY trade label remains to the rear handle with previous owner's stamps 'W.BRYAN'.

Some surface knocks, scratches, pitting and staining spots, mainly to the sole, please see images.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.

10⁵/₁₆ inches overall length.
