American STANLEY 5 1/2 Jack Plane - Type 11
A tidy American STANLEY No.5 1/2 jack plane.
Believed to be a type 11 circa 1910 - 1918.
Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.
Fitted with a near full length replacement 21/4 inch STANLEY blade iron with the Sweetheart trade mark and stamped '336' on the back. The blade iron width on later STANLEY 51/2 planes was increased to 23/8 inches from 1939 onwards.
115/16 inches remain below the slot.
Three patent dates on the bed behind the frog.
The bottom of the frog is marked '5 1/2'.
Marked 'STANLEY' on the lateral lever.
Very good rosewood handles.
Retains much of the original black finish.

A few minor surface knocks, scratches, pitting and staining spots.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
