American STANLEY 5 1/2 Jack Plane - Type 15 *SOLD*
A well used American STANLEY No.5 1/2 jack plane.
Believed to be a type 15 circa 1931 - 1932.
Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.
This plane has the narrower 21/4 inch frog and blade, this frog (marked '51/2' on the base) is the same as those used in the rare STANLEY 4 1/2H heavy smoothing planes and the 5 1/2H heavy jack planes.
Fitted with a short 21/4 inch American STANLEY blade iron. The blade iron width on later STANLEY 51/2 planes was increased to 23/8 inches from 1939 onwards, 1/2 inch remains below the slot.
No patent dates on the bed behind the frog.
Marked 'MADE IN U.S.A.' behind the front knob with 'STANLEY' on the lateral lever.

Someone has painted this plane (body and frog) in an olive green however the original black finish is showing through.
Some surface knocks, scratches, pitting and staining.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
