A good 11/16 inch or 18mm straight carving gouge by ASHLEY ILES.

Usually marked 'ASHLEY ILES LTD MADE IN ENGLAND' on the top of the blade however this has worn off.

The sweep number is also gone however this gouge is a good match to a London pattern No.6 sweep.

Very good beech wood handle with brass ferrule, the ferrule is split however all appears firm and secure, please see close-up image.

No previous owner's stamps.
