A very little used, probably unused, Reg Sherwin roughing out gouge by ASHLEY ILES.

Marked 'ASHLEY ILES LTD MADE IN ENGLAND' near the ferrule plus 'REG SHERWIN HSS' to the back of the blade.

We appreciate that width descriptions of turning tools can vary by maker and country, this gouge has a 5/8 inch diameter stock, 3/8" flute internal width and is 1/2" from the inside of the flute to the outside of the stock.  Hopefully that covers all of the variations.

Excellent beech wood handle with brass ferrule and trade label, shows no sign of use.
