Boxwood Tower Container marked BECK & CO ENGINEERS SOUTHWARK

An interesting boxwood container in the form of a tower or lighthouse.
The base is marked 'BECK & CO LD ENGINEERS SOUTHWARK'. With a history dating back to the early 1800s, the BECK & CO Beckmeter petrol pumps are probably their best known products. They also produced pipes, pumps, water meters etc.
The top of this turned boxwood tower has a threaded hole with a steel screw.
The base cap has an unthreaded centre hole and screws on to the bottom of the tower. Both the inside of this base cap and the tower are marked '25', please see close-up image.
5 inches tall (excluding the steel screw) and 25/8 inches in diameter at the base.
Purpose unknown but an interesting and attractive item.
