A rare and little used 8 inch DISSTON No.70 dovetail saw.

The No.70 saws were first offered in 1918 and apparently did not sell in large numbers, hence they are quite scarce today.

Clear blade etching reads 'HENRY DISSTON & SONS PHILADELPHIA U.S.A. No.70'.

The brass plated steel back retains the majority of brassed finish.

Excellent applewood handle with 2 brass fixings and much of its original lacquer finish.

Previous owner's stamps 'R.NORDON'.

The 8 inch blade is clean and straight with all teeth (approx' 17/18 tpi) present and well formed.

A few very minor surface staining spots.

Approximately 121/4 inches overall length.

Fitted with a craftsman made wooden tooth guard.

A fine example of a hard to find saw.
