Early ADDIS Senior V Carving Chisel Parting Tool
A very good and early 1/8 inch carving vee chisel or parting tool by ADDIS of London.
Marked 'ADDIS SENR' on the blade, believed to be the mark of Joseph James ADDIS, the father of Samuel Joseph ADDIS and his younger brother Joseph Bacon ADDIS.
Considering its age the blade of this gouge is a good length at 3 inches with plenty of use left.
Clear manufacturing marks are visible, please see images.
Very good and possibly original octagonal beechwood handle, previous owner's stamps 'P', 'H.GEORGE' and 'J.M.KNOX'.
93/16 inches / 232mm overall length.
A fine early example.
