Early Deep Carving Gouge by BROWN *SOLD*
An early 1/2 inch wide deep woodcarving gouge.
Marked 'W BROWN' on the blade, possibly William BROWN, the joiners tool maker father of Henry BROWN of Sheffield, formerly part of the early 19th century BROWN & FLATHER partnership and latterly HENRY BROWN & SONS.
Fitted with an octagonal beechwood handle.
Previous owner's stamps 'H.GEORGE' and 'J.M.KNOX'.
