A good early English STANLEY No.3 small smoothing plane.

Believed to be a pre WW2 1930s production example from when STANLEY's Sheffield produced planes had rosewood handles.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

Fitted with a good length 1³/₄ inch English STANLEY flat top blade iron and matching cap iron, 1¹³/₁₆ inches remain below the slot.

Retains much of its original black finish.

Very good rosewood handles with much of their original lacquer coating, there is an old but firm repair to the rear handle, please see close-up images.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
