Huge GROVES Compass Saw *SOLD*

A very good large antique compass or lock saw by Richard GROVES of Sheffield.
This saw has a 211/4 inch blade length from the front of the handle to the toe, by far the longest we have ever seen on a compass saw.
Marked 'R GROVES & SONS' on the blade.
The blade is clean and straight, has a 193/4" long tooth run with all teeth (approx' 5tpi) present and well formed.
A few minor surface staining spots, please see images.
Excellent beechwood handle with two split nut brass fixings, no previous owner's stamps.
271/2 inches overall length.
