A good vintage ⁷/₈ inch or 22mm shallow straight carving gouge by JB ADDIS of Sheffield.

Marked 'ENGLAND JB ADDIS & SONS SHEFFIELD' to the top of the blade with '10 PRIZE MEDAL 51 TO 89' on the underside.

Some minor surface staining, please see images.

Not marked with a sweep number but a good match to London pattern No.4 sweep.

Good beechwood handle with brass ferrule, previous owner's stamps 'R.P.SIMMONDS' and 'A.PATERSON'.
