A very little used brass plated mortice marking gauge by JOSEPH MARPLES of Sheffield.

Marked 'JOSEPH MARPLES LTD SHEFFIELD' to one side of the head stock.

Brass wear strips and thumb slide adjuster.

Good length pins.

Retains the majority of its original finish throughout.

There is a small shake where the marking pin emerges from the bottom of the stem however all is firm and secure, please see close-up images.

A few minor surface scratches.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
