Large Firmer Gouge by HEARNSHAW BROS for Henry OSBORN
A good 19th century 13/8 inch wide firmer gouge by HEARNSHAW BROTHERS of Sheffield.
This gouge has the HEARNSHAW BROS John Bull trade mark on the underside of the blade with 'H OSBORN' on the top of the blade. Henry OSBORN was a tool merchant with branches in Newcastle and Southampton.
Very good boxwood handle with brass ferrule, previous owner's stamps 'F.RIDLEY'.

Will require sharpening before use.
