A very little used RECORD No.04 smoothing plane.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

This is a late production plane (circa 1976 - 1988) with the modified frog adjusting slot to accommodate the integral washer on the adjusting screw, please see close-up image.

Fitted with a full length 2 inch RECORD tungsten vanadium steel blade iron with its original factory grind and matching cap iron, 2³/₁₆ inches remain below the slot.

Some spots under the lacquer at the top of the blade.

Retains the majority of its original finish throughout.

Excellent hardwood handles.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
