A scarce vintage cast steel MARPLES 2 inch wide bevel edge chisel.

Marked 'HIBERNIA W MARPLES & SONS CAST STEEL' to the top of the blade.

The blade flares from 1⁷/₈ inches wide at the shoulders to 2" at the cutting edge.

Some surface pitting and staining spots, please see images.

Good beechwood handle with brass ferrule, no previous owner's stamps.

12⁵/₈ inches (321mm) overall length.
