A little used 5/8 inch common or square ovolo moulding plane by MARPLES of Sheffield.

Marked 'HIBERNIA WM MARPLES & SONS SHEFFIELD' with the Shamrock trade mark on the toe and stamped '5/8' on the heel.

Near full length blade iron with almost all of the original black finish.

Original wedge.

Also marked with a double diamond behind the wedge mortice, believed to be the mark of the individual plane maker or hand.

Some minor staining to the sole.

Previous owner's stamps 'R.NORDON'.

97/16 inches overall length.
