American STANLEY No 6C Corrugated Fore Plane - Type 10
An early American STANLEY No.6 C corrugated fore plane.
Believed to be a type 10 - circa 1907-1909
Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.
Fitted with a 23/8 inch STANLEY blade iron marked 'STANLEY NEW BRITAIN CONN. U.S.A.' and matching cap iron, some pitting. 5/8 inch remains below the slot.
The type 10 was the first model with the frog adjuster and the frog on this plane appears to have an added piece at the top of the slot that fits over the raised rib in the casting, something we have not seen before - please see close-up image
Marked 'PAT'D MAR-25-02 AUG-19-02' behind the frog.

Good rosewood handles, previous owner's stamps 'I.McEWAN'.
Solid brass nuts.
Some wear to the original black finish.
A few knocks and scratches, pitting and staining spots.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
