Early RECORD 311 Plane
A very good early example of the RECORD No.311 shoulder rabbet bull nose and chisel plane.
The earlier (pre 1950s) planes have a lower profile shoulder section, triangular checkered section on the main body and are marked 'RECORD BRITISH' on the cap.
This RECORD 3 in 1 plane can be used as a chisel plane, bull nose or shoulder plane by adding or removing the appropriate nose sections.
Fitted with a goodl length 11/8 inch RECORD tungsten steel cutter.
Marked '5' with 2 dots on the bull nose and shoulder sections and inside the main body.
Remains of the original rustless coating, hence the slightly patchy appearance.
A few very minor surface knocks and scratches, please see images.
All parts move freely and tighten securely.
A fine example.
