Large SORBY Paring Chisel - 1 1/4 inch

A very nice 1¹/₄ inch wide cast steel paring chisel by SORBY of Sheffield.

Marked 'I SORBY CAST STEEL' on the top of the blade with 'SHEFFIELD' and the Mr Punch trade mark on the underside.

Good hardwood handle with brass ferrule, one old (treated & wax filled) worm exit hole, please see close-up image.

The blade flares slightly from a little under 1¹/₄ inches at the shoulders to a little over 1¹/₄" at the cutting edge.

A few minor surface pitting and staining spots.

Previous owner's stamps 'G.LEDGER'.

15¹/₂ inches overall length.
