A clean and tidy post War NORRIS A5 smoothing plane.

Marked 'NORRIS LONDON' on the lever cap and adjuster wheel.

Raised steel 'pads' to either side of the throat to centre the blade iron.

Fitted with a good length 2¹/₈ inch NORRIS LONDON blade iron (also stamped 'ROBT SORBY SHEFFIELD' to the back) and matching cap iron, a little over 1³/₁₆ inches remain below the slot.

Patches of the original lacquer finish remain on the infill.

There is a small patch of pitting to the sole in front of the mouth plus a few surface knocks and scratches, please see images.

The adjuster is smooth and works well.

No previous owner's marks.

7⁵/₈ inch sole length.

A good honest example.
