A very good 12 inch RABONE No.1375 strong iron level or clinometer.
'RABONE MANUFACTURERS BIRMINGHAM No 1375' is cast into the base.
The RABONE 1892 catalogue describes this level as:
"SUPERIOR Strong Iron Level, With screw adjustment and Scale for showing fall per yard, especially adapted for Gas and Water Works."
Available in 9 and 12 inch lengths, this 12 inch example has seen very little use.
Retains almost all of its original black finish throughout.
A few patches of lacquer remain on the brass parts.
Clear bubble and tube with foil backing.
121/4 inches overall length.
One we have not seen before and a fine example.
