Rare WILLIAM SQUIRE 18th Century Moulding Plane
A scarce 18th century moulding plane by William SQUIRE of London, circa 1754 - 1760.
Faint embossed mark 'W SQUIRE' with zigzag border.
This mark is partly overstamped, please see close-up image.
Also stamped '2' on the heel.
This plane has a very narrow profile and may well have been altered from a No.2 round.
Some pitting and staining to the blade iron.
Four old, treated and wax filled, worm exit holes with various knocks and scratches, please see images.
Previous owner's stamps 'WS' and 'W&S'.
