Antique DRABBLE & SANDERSON 28 inch Rip Saw *SOLD*

Code: 1841m

A wonderful 28 inch rip cut panel saw by DRABBLE & SANDERSON of Sheffield.

Believed to date from the second half of the 19th century.

Shapely beechwood handle with four brass split-nut fixings.  A few minor knocks and chips - please see close-up images

The 28 inch straight back blade is clean and straight with all teeth present and well formed.  The blade has a smooth glossy finish although this has proved difficult to show in the photographs.

Full and clear 'DRABBLE & SANDERSON D SHEFFIELD WARRANTED CAST STEEL PATENT GROUND' blade etching.

The blade is 71/2 inches deep at the heel and 21/2 inches deep at the toe.

The nib is still in place where it should be.

A few minor surface pitting and staining spots,

Previous owner's stamps 'E.ISOM'.

Approximately 32 inches overall length.

A quality saw.
