A scarce 3/16 inch or 5mm spoon carving gouge by Edward PRESTON of Birmingham.

Very few PRESTON marked carving tools turn up.

Marked 'E PRESTON' to the side of the blade.

Not marked with a sweep number however this gouge is a good match to a London pattern No.29 sweep.

Very good boxwood handle with brass ferrule.

Previous owner's initials 'W.H.S'.
