A scarce graduated set of 8 wooden side bead moulding planes by GRIFFITHS of Norwich.

This set came to us missing the smallest ¹/₈ size however we have managed to source a very good replacement, please see images.

Sizes: 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8 and 1 inch.

The larger three planes have removeable slips to convert them to torus beads, the slip is missing on the ³/₄ plane.

Each is marked 'GRIFFITHS NORWICH' on the toe with the relevant size stamped on the heel.

The two smaller sizes are fully or solid boxed with all others boxed.

All of the boxwood is in very good condition with no cracks or splits, please see close-up image.

Good length blades irons retaining much of the original black finish.

Original wedges, some minor bruising to the finial of the ⁵/₈ plane.

Previous owner's stamps 'A.RENAUT' to the ¹/₈ plane with all others stamped 'R.G.HICKS'.

A few minor surface knocks and scratches.

9³/₈ inches overall length.
