SPEARWELL Military Axe - 2 1/2lb
A tidy 21/2lb Kent pattern axe by SPEARWELL.
SPEARWELL was a short lived company formed in 1967 and ending in the early 1970s. It was made up of a number of consolidated edge tools brands including Brades & Nash, CT Skelton, Edward Elwell, Edward & William Lucas, Isacc Nash & Sons, Spear & Jackson, Thomas Staniforth and Tyzack.
This axe is marked '21/2' on one cheek and '9104069 1969' with the military Broad Arrow mark on the other. The SPEARWELL trade mark is also found on both cheeks.
A little under 43/4 inches wide at the cutting edge.
75/8 inches from the poll to the cutting edge.
