A tidy STANLEY 41/2 smoothing plane.

Heavier and wider than the No.4 plane.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

Fitted with a near full length 23/8 inch English STANLEY blade iron with matching cap iron, 23/16 inches remains below the slot.

Very good hardwood handles with the majority of the original lacquer finish.

Retains the majority of its original black finish.

A few minor surface knocks, scratches, pitting and staining spots, please see images.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.

101/4 inches overall length.
