A very little used 1950s STANLEY No 4 smoothing plane in 'The Tool Box of the World' packaging.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

Fitted with a near full length flat top 2 inch STANLEY blade iron and matching cap iron,  the blade appears to have been lightly honed, retains both its original factory grind plus the lacquer coating, a little over 2¹/₁₆ inches remain below the slot.

Retains the majority of its original finish throughout.

Excellent hardwood handles.

There are a few minor surface spots, mainly to the side cheeks, please see all images.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.

9³/₈ inches overall length.
