An unusual and attractive early 19th century handrail or stair rail shave by STOKOE of London.

Marked 'STOKOE' to the rear, this mark has been overstamped by a previous owner however we have adjusted the close-up image to clearly show the maker's mark.

Fully boxed sole with adjustable boxwood fence that can be set for both straight and curved work.

The fence has two screws which tighten onto a brass plate plus a hand written 'P/2' mark in the centre.

Fitted with a good length and most likely original MAW & STALEY round top blade iron.

Previous owner's stamps 'J MURRIN' and 'G CARPENTER'.
