A vintage leather razor strop in its original card box with label.

The label is marked 'THE GRADUATING STROP' with the bottom line of text stating 'DIRECTIONS - When the Razor is very dull, use the Red Side finishing on black  ordinarily the Black Side is sufficient to secure a Fine Edge'.

The leather is mounted over two end plates fitted over two full length bars.  One of the end plates moves over these bars, when the threaded rod is tightened using the ebonised wooden handle, to tension the leather.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.

The leather faces are 7¹/₄ by 1⁹/₁₆ inches overall.
