Marked 'VARVILL & SONS EBOR WORKS YORK' with the Bishops Mitre trade mark to the toe.

Fitted with a 2¹/₄ inch COLQUHOUN & CADMAN blade iron with matching cap iron, a few surface spots, please see images.

Scroll topped wedge.

There is a 'J' stamped to the top of the stock by the wedge mortice, most likely the mark of the individual plane maker or plane hand.

Brass faced concave sole.
