A good, lightly used example of the VERITAS crosscut tenon saw.

The manufacturer states:

"Weighing just under 1 1/2 lb with 16" blades, these are the largest saws in the Veritas line.  The blades are made from 0.024" thick high-carbon steel with 0.003" of set per side and a cut depth of nearly 4".

The teeth on the crosscut saw have a 15° rake and have been filed with alternating 15° bevels so they sever wood fibers rather than tear them.

Each saw is well balanced, with a spine molded from a mixture of stainless-steel powder for weight, glass fiber for stiffness and a polymer resin binder. The closed handle is configured for exceptional control for a saw of this size and weight, with a hardwood grip secured by a stainless-steel bolt and brass nut.

The blade and handle-mounting bolt are molded into the spine, creating a solid blade/spine/mount assembly.

Made in Canada."

Marked with the VERITAS trade mark on the back and '12tpi CROSSCUT' on the blade.

The 163/16 inch blade is clean and straight with all but one of teeth present and well formed.  One tooth, 21/2 inches from the toe, has lost its tip, please see close-up image.

The blade has a mirror like finish which we hope is visible in the images.

Very good hardwood handle with brass nut, some small chips to the spurs plus a few minor surface knocks and scratches, please see images.

211/2 inches overall length.

Complete with the clear plastic tooth guard.
