The WODEN catalogue description states:

"The great strength and rigidity of this vice resulting from the careful design and accurate Machining accounts for its extreme popularity.  Fitted with an unbreakable Nut, the slide can be withdrawn from the Body for cleaning and oiling without removing the Vice from the Bench.

The hardened Steel Jaw Plates are completely interchangeable, the Screw is of the Best Quality Mild Steel and the Body and Slide of close-grained Cast Iron."

Marked '186B/00 WODEN' to one side with 'MADE IN ENGLAND' on the opposite side.

2¹/₄ inch wide jaws, opening 2¹/₄ inches.

Much of its original dark blue finish remains.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
