18th Century Moulding Plane by S TOMKINSON
A scarce 18th century moulding plane by Samuel TOMKINSON of London, circa 1763 - 1789.
Operating in London at the same time as, and possibly related to Leonard TOMKINSON.
Embossed script mark 'S.TOMKINSON' to the toe with '6' stamped on the heel.
Good length blade iron and original wedge.
Some old fixing holes where a previous owner has attached a fence.
Previous owner's stamps 'GB&S' (on the right side of the stock) and 'I.DAVEY'.

Plenty of patina.
