A pair of interesting MARPLES 3/4 inch chisels.

Most likely adapted by the previous owner.

Both are 3/4" or 19mm wide and appear to have started out as standard MARPLES firmer chisels.

One has a V groove across the width that effectively creates a double cutting edge with just under 3/16" (3.5mm) between the edges, the other has a V shape which creates two 1/8" (3mm) wide cutting edges that are 3/4" or 19mm apart.

Purpose unknown.

A few minor spots to the blades.

Very good boxwood handles with brass ferrules and MARPLES trade marks.

Previous owner's stamps 'J RAWSON'.
