A scarce group of four vintage leather cutting dies, cutters or punches.

One each of spade, club, heart and diamond.

The club cutter is marked 'J LEE LONDON EC' referring to James Lee of 5 Frederick's Row, Goswell Road, London.

This part of London was well known for its leather trades including the Goswell Leather Manufacturing Company, leather dressers, at No.6 Frederick's Row.

The cutting edge of the spade die measures 1³/₄ by 1⁵/₈ inches (45 x 42mm) maximum, the club is 2 by 1⁷/₈" (51 x 47mm), the heart 1³/₄ by 1³/₄" (45 x 45mm) and the diamond 1 by 2¹/₂" (25 x 63mm).

Three are 1⁷/₁₆" (36mm) tall with the diamond cutter being 1¹/₁₆" or 27mm.
