A very good 3/8 inch or 9mm spoon carving gouge by CHARLES HILL of Sheffield.

Marked 'C HILL SHEFFIELD' with the Cannon trade mark on the blade.

Not marked with a sweep number however this gouge is a good match to a London pattern No.21 sweep.

Very good boxwood handle with brass ferrule and leather washer.

Previous owner's initials 'W H J'.

103/16 inches (259mm) overall length.
