A vintage natural sharpening stone or water stone.

Believed to be a Scottish Tam O Shanter stone or Scotch hone.

This stone measures approximately 8 inches (203mm) long by 1³/₄" (45mm) wide by ¹¹/₁₆" (18mm) at its thickest part.

Smooth and flat surface with a few minor chips to the edges, please see images.

The last two images show the stone with water on its surface.

Fitted in a hardwood lidded box with markings by the previous owner.
