A very tidy and little used RECORD No 04 smoothing plane.

Dismantled, cleaned, checked, oiled and reassembled.

Fitted with a good length 2 inch RECORD best crucible cast tungsten steel blade iron and matching cap iron, a little over 2¹/₁₆ inches remain below the slot.

Marked 'OFF CUT ON' to the inside of the brass depth adjuster wheel.

Retains almost all of its original finish throughout.

Excellent hardwood handles with the almost all of their original lacquer finish and trade label to the top of the rear handle.

Patches of the original finish remain on the side cheeks.

All parts move freely and tighten securely.
