A rare American STANLEY No.54 plow (or plough) & rabbet plane.

Only produced for a short period between 1937 and 1949 the No.54 is identical to the No.50 apart from the lack of spurs and a depth stop on the sliding section.  The No.54 also came with pairs of long and short arms.

Supplied with 8 cutters between 1/8 and 5/8 inches.

Very few of these planes turn up and hence they can demand high prices, especially when they are complete in their original card box with the STANLEY leaflet.

Currently somewhere in northern Europe.
